I've just about got my starcraft fishmaster 16 situated, steering is a little stiff and it's not helped the wood console. I've been thinking about doing diamond plate, starboard or a cutting board material to replace it. I suppose I could use marine plywood but I don't really want to buy an entire sheet for it. Also any tips on steering wheel removal, usually it's seized to the shaft. I probably could use a new cable anyway and these vevor kit's don't look like a terrible deal. Any experience with them?

Also I never would have guessed my livewell was factory, but apparently it is. Found the brochure below, it has been a practical little boat and the 85 horse pushes it along pretty well.
