About 10 years ago we were drifting Assatuge Isalnd VA for fluke and the jet skis kept running into our spread. i pulled out a floating shark rig (no hook just the float with a float) and let it out behind the boat. Soon enough here comes a jet sky and runs right through the line, well the drag starts singing and the hook slides into the speeding jets sky and hooks the guy through the life vest. the line snapped but I am sure he stopped running behind fishing boats when he saw the rig impaled into his vest.

Next time I was gonna leave the hook attached

3 oz Bank Sinkers on a 10 foot rod also work as a great deterrent!

I prefer the pyramid sinkers (or is that what you're calling Bank Sinkers ??) for that purpose.

As you will note, while pyramid sinkers are great for surf fishing becuase they do not roll, for accurate casting at moving objects (aka Jet Skis) the bank sinker is preferable. Bank sinkers are more aerodynamic while a pyramid sinker tends to tumble and then act like a knuckle ball - erratic flight patterns are problematic.

Further, the lack of flat sides on the bank sinker makes it highlky unlikely that the "authorities" can retrieve finger prints should you connect to the intended target.

See, now there are two buttons with werds that start with an "S". Where do the posts go if I click the wrong one? How do I find my "saved" posts, if that's what I clicked? I really should wear my glasses when I do thijs stuff.

When you flip a pyramid sinker just right, you can make it fly point first at the target and embed itself deeply on contact.
