What would happen If you mounted a down image sonar transducer on the side of a trolling motor? Would you be able to scan the area around the boat as the trolling motor turned? Thinking about using it to locate bedding panfish. I have never seen this done, so it must not work. Has anyone ever tried this?

I had the hds structure scan mounted on my trolling motor and in short it sucked To get a good omage you need to travel in a straight line at a set speed on the trolling motor you tend to have to much movement to get a clear picture.I am moving mine to the rear of the boat before spring

mounting a DS/DI TD on the "side" of a TM will probably block half of the signal, but if you mount on the bottom of the motor similar to a 2d TD, will work but the picture may get distorted whenever you rotate the TM/change directions.
