I run my Alweld 1448/25 jet combo in very shallow rivers. I'm thinking I would like to try standing up with a handlebar of some sort and a tiller extension, for better visibility of hazards. How would you guys go about adding a handlebar like that?

The ones I’ve seen, are shaped like a heavy duty walking cane, attached to the starboard side, just forward of your standing position. You hold with right hand, left on tiller. They must be securely mounted, but have not seen how it was accomplished.

You see a lot of those on shows like Swamp People.

I liked one with a 1" diameter, inverted "U" shaped bar, mounted up the backside of a bunk. Nice and solid. Rail mounted fishfinder halfway down.

I'm not much for tiller boats, but that seems like a good idea if you have one.
