Starting my restoration of 1230 flat bottom

Just swapped some labor for an old 1230 flat bottom. It's not in too terribly shape. A few cracks that need to be fixed, flaking paint, and a transom that is starting to show some wear. My plans are to weld the cracks up, new paint, new transom, and add some wood to the top of the seats. Debated about adding a wood deck to the floor, but I think one of the benefits of this size boat is the light weight and ability for one man to load in the back of as truck. Hey e5early. Nice little boat. I got one just like it and I think we're right about in the same spot project wise. I'm not sure how exactly I wanna do my transom yet, so I'll be curious to see how you go about yours. Good luck and I can't wait to see what she ends up looking like!

don't over do it, fix the holes and use it , don't add all the extra weight of a deck remember is only 30 inch bottom. Have fun

Took her out yesterday to test the hull repairs before painting. Still have to install new transom. Everything was bone dry after a couple hours of fishing with my daughter and youngest son. Can't believe I waited this long to get a boat. Good times.
