I was going to paint my 14ft boat with a flat hunter green. I have been thinking that everyone has a green boat. The company I'm ordering my paint from (Parker Coatings Inc...Cabelas carries it) had jon boat paint in flat gray. I think I would like to go this route with gray carpet and seat. However, how does gray stand up to staining and stuff. I fish on a river that is somtimes muddy and don't want my boat all stained up. Please help

Muddy and stained water will most certainly stain the boat, but unless you leave it for a prolonged period of time, a simple spray down after each trip should be just fine.

Wish I could have got mine in haze gray. Everyone seems to have a green boat around here, lol. I hose-off and wipe mine down after each trip, even though it's green. I don't care much for a slimy, stained water line.

Mine is currently gray and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Besides, some one said on here the fish don't have a preference of what you boat looks like. How about pink :D like the old war movie "Operation Petticoat" where they paint the submarine pink

Just kidding about the pink. Gray will do fine.

grey it is, i am having the company send me a finished sample of what the paint looks like dry, should be here in a day or two. Also going to BPS sunday to pick up some seats for it

how does grey do with sun in the summer?? Is it pretty cool to the touch?? Thats another concern of mine when it comes to paint and carpet.

Lighter colors are cooler, but if you spend 8 hours on the water in direct sunlight, any type of metal is going to warm up.
