hey guys! ive heard a few people on here say they used trailer light wiring to run power to small accessories on their boat. I was looking at some i have left over from my trailer today and it looks really thin. I cant find an exact gauge but its an LED trailer light kit i bought from harbor freight or wally world for like 40 bucks. i found some wiring at HF yesterday that was "trailer wiring" and it was 22 gauge? Would that be too thin for like fish finders and 12v acc? i might just use it for lights only if it is...

Depends on the acc's you are trying to run on it and how far you are running the wire.

Fish finders normally have something on the order of 20 or 22 gauge on the factory pigtail that you connect to. I usually run 14 or 16 gauge for that kind of thing, myself.
