torque converter on surface drive mud motor?

ive always wondered if this would help with torque in low rpms and top speed in high rpms. but have no idea since i have no background in mud motors.

no background either but looking hard and from what i can tell you cannot just add one. pretty sure you would have to build one and incorporate it into your build.
 
Outside of seeing a couple in action, no experience with mud motors. Most look like direct drive and rely on prop slip. They seem to scream but gradually plane out. I suspect the shifting back and forth of the torque converter with prop slip and bite would be a challenge. It would seem to cause much more complexity and problems to a simple design.
