I put new wiring on my trailer rebuild.
I have break lights on the truck and trailer when i hit the peddle.
I have tail lights on the truck and trailer when the running lights are on.
I have left and right turn signals on the truck and trailer when hit.
here's the weird thing, when i have the tail lights on and i hit the break peddle, the trailer lights go out, like their dead, but the trucks still work?
I realize that the truck trailer plug is a 4-way switch but my trailer lighting is a 5-way set up.
So here is the lay out on the truck,
Right turn signal is green
Left turn signal is yellow
Tail lights/license/side marker is Brown
White is Ground
Here is the lay out on the trailer,
Right turn signal is green
Left turn signal is yellow
Tail lights/license/side marker is Brown & red
white is ground.
All colors are hooked up, but I put the Brown & Red wire together off the trailer and hooked them both to the Brown wire on the truck, here's a pic
So, is my problem the red & brown wire together? if so, is there a way to still hook up a 4-way to a 5-way?
