Hi, I’m new to boating and was hoping to get some help on my trailer setup.

Its 1436. The previous owner had the stern and bunks sitting about 2’ off the back of the trailer. He connected the transom straps directly to the bunks (see pic). I’ve replaced the bunks and went from 7’ to 8’ and moved the boat about 1ft farther onto the trailer.
I would really appreciate some advice on the following:
Is the trailer big enough for the boat?
Is it in a good position on the trailer?
If the position is good, is it better to connect the stern straps to the bunks like the previous owner had them directly below the transom handles or wrap them underneath from the transom handles to the trailer. Not sure if the sharp angle hurts with stability/safety.
