Bow mount or foot controlled?

Minkota maxxum or its equivalent.. 101 lb thrust, 36 volts.. Bow mount

Transom mount get the 101 in 3x steering.. as long as it has the maximizer technology its all good..

Minn Kota Hands down. I have the Power Drive V2 in the front & Endura 46 in the back. Best investment I ever bought.

Well...it depends.

If you want a bow mount for mainly bass style fishing or vertical jigging(having tosteer quite a bit) Minn-Kota Maxxum or Fortrex........ I prefer the cable steering.

However if you want to troll dragging baits in a straigh line, a Minn KotaPowerdrive or Terrova might be a better fit because you can lock it in one direction, and run the foot control from just about anywhere. Or even the MotorGuide Wireless version.

Transom Mount- I have a Motorguide Varimax 55lb. I love it. the variable control is great and battery life is amazing.

I have to disagree with that one. If you don't get one that is fresh from the factory, you could end up with a recalled version. Mine was nice enough to leave me stranded across the lake, with the wind in my face in my electric only boat.

eff that.

Mine was recalled too, but I never had any issue with it so I guess I was lucky. I just really like the battery meter and battery life I get out of it. I use it on the bow of my pontoon boat and couldn't believe how it could pull me around.
