I need help with where I should mount my bow mounted trolling motor. I have a modified vee hull with a small front deck and would like to have the mount positioned off center of the bow. I hope to accomplish this using a piece of high density plastic cutting board (roughly 1/2 inch thick and the size of the underside of the mount) to support and extend the mount and shaft out in front of the boat when deployed. When stowed, the trolling motor head will be resting over the front area of the boat and not sticking out to the side. The bow mounted trolling motors I have seen on vee hulls have been mounted at the same angle of the bow, I assume to maximize space and keep the trolling motor out of the way when stowed. Also will having it off center of the boat, how will that affect the boats maneuverability and tracking? Thanks for your opinions and suggestions in advance.
