I thought I'd ask you guys on here, since I perused the DOL, and USCG websites, and really couldn't seem to get a definite answer to my question. I have a 12ft aluminum boat that is very old with no title. Not sure it ever even had one. It's just a row boat for now. However, I would like to put a little 6hp outboard on it, to go fishing. Now I know that boats under 14ft and <10hp don't need to be licensed or registered for when you use it on WA lakes, etc. However, what if I want to go out and fish in the Hood Canal, or the Carr inlet when the weather is calm?

Hey, Condor, try boat.wa.gov. You will find answers to questions and lots of links. And there is something called a phone number you can use. I have found them very helpful in the past. I believe the magic length is 16 ft btw. Good luck.
