Give me some ideas for another give away. What do you want? What do you need? Don't be shy, let me know and I'll make something work.

I have thought about that. Let me generate some business from the site first, then we will talk. I'm not going to lie, at some point I feel like that will happen.

seriously though - how much would it cost to wrap say a 15' boat? I've thought about it many times - maybe even just ordering the wrap and then installing it myself... MO is a little ways of a drive from GA with a boat (and that's if I could find the time to get away from work to get it done)

But as far as a give away... how about a custom sticker design for a bass club on this site or something custom for the members.

That's got me thinking for something else now... Do you do custom logos in vector format? If you do, then I might have some business for you... this would of course entail me buying about 50 stickers for club members

Here is one that I made for last year and had turned into stickers... but it's not in vector format and I can't get it on my fishing jersey

A rough estimate on a 15' boat with a custom wrap would be around $600 but a camo wrap would be $180 for permanent vinyl and $225 for removable vinyl from Camoclad. The Camoclad prices do not include installation. No matter where you are in North America, I will find you a qualified installer to do a quality job. There are a lot of wrap companies out there but the really good installers know who each other are and we are all connected.

As far as changing that logo to a vector file format, that particular logo would be a pain. Any sort of 3-D look makes changing a logo to vector very difficult. I'm not saying it can't be done but it is a PAIN and you are going to incure quite a lot of design fees.

For the bass club stickers - Do you mean pick a bass club that enters the contest and then come up with a design for that bass club and then print out 50 or so stickers for the members? More if the club was bigger of course. So it would be a multi step process of 1)picking a bass club 2)designing a logo for them 3)deciding on a final draft for the logo 4)print the logos and send them to the head of the bass club Correct? Does not sound too bad to me.

About the contest -

I was thinking of randomly selecting one of the bass club that is still in operation... then work with the club's tinboat.net moderator to come up with a design... that might make it easier on you to think of something, instead of wasting time with designs only to find out that's not what the club moderator had in mind... I'm just thinking out loud.

And about the quantity of stickers - I was talking about my club personally... I need to get some more made up, and I would order probably 50 - but the members want something that stands out similar to that above

but on a side note - I hear ya on changing that image to vector format! I worked on it for about 12 hours before I decided to quite wasting my time!

And I will be getting with you pretty soon about wrapping my boat and some other ideas I have in mind

Would the vinyl even be an option for a riveted boat?

Seems like a nightmare installation.

Vinyl on a rivetted boat is no problem. The installation is more involved but it is not too bad. My boat is wrapped and rivetted.

help advertise/promote the tinboat web site with free/reduced price stickers, etc. There are numerous tin boats in my area, more than glass imo, but I'm a bit prejudiced. :LOL2: A sticker for the transom area of the boat so people admiring your boat going down the road to the lake will see where you hang out when not on the water.

Wow I REALLY want to camo wrap my boat now

You should talk to Jim about doing new tinboats.net stickers. The last company isn't sponsoring the site anymore (that I know of) and it'd be nice to see some different designs!

He turned me on to my next project... CAMOCLAD

check out their website, it's pretty awesome stuff. I've seen one boat done, and I think I can actually do that myself (ok, with the help of my buddy who works at a body shop)

Camoclad is an awesome product. I have been a distributor for them for about 5 years and I have used a lot of their products from boat wraps to gun wraps and everything in between. The product is a quality 3M material and it is forgiving for the first timer. Their prices are very reasonable also. I have seen some of their vinyls last for 5 years with minimal color fading also which is very important.

They also have 14 (I think) different camo designs to choose from.

Can you clarify that for future reference please?

5 years because that is how long you have been a distributor or because it only makes it 5 years before it starts to fade and look bad?

I have seen some around here that looks awful after a few years. I have no idea what brand it was but it is not really something that I would want on my boat if it had permanent glue on the back of it. That stuff would be a nightmare to remove.

It looks fantastic when applied, I will give it that.

Oh.. and I second the Tinboats stickers/decals. I would say that the majority of the members here are not members of one of the bass clubs so that would cut down on the applicants for the giveaway.

Sorry, I just saw this. 5 years because it is very rare for any printed materials to last any longer than that. THERE ARE PRODUCTS THAT LAST LONGER, but it is rare especially down south because of the effects of UV rays. Even with an over laminate the sun is a vicious beast on printed graphics and they fade over time.
