what gauge wire

i am wanting run a switch panel that runs my depth finder running lights and a few led bars what gauge power wire do i need to run from the battery to the switch panel

I would use 12ga at the min,but probably go wtih 10ga,depending on the amp draw.Don't take my word for it ,get some other opinions.I always go big though.
