Are you wanting to deck it high (above the seats) or just put a floor in the bottom of the boat? I'd probably just put a floor in the bottom of the boat for stability issues. As mentioned above, how wide is the boat? Any pics to post?

i have pics but i had to wipe out my computer and they are on one of about 10 cds along with about 1000 other pics but in going to find them and post them when i learn how. i was wanting to go about an inch above the seats and i would leave a big gap in the middle for the ice chest lol and also would 1/2 inch ply be strong enough

Your boat is likely too narrow to deck that high.

any thickness of plywood is fine if you have proper support

do some searching and check out prior mods to get a feel for what actually needs to be done, and how to do it.

Here is my write up on this very subject it is the first sticky on the boat mod section. https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9074

i dont know if this work but these are some pics of my boat. it is 42" wide will that make it stable enough to put a higher deck in it

Is it 42" across the top, or across the floor?

If it's 42" across the top, I very seriously doubt it's wide enough to deck up becasue it's most likely a 32" floor. I decked a 36" floor, but the width across the top was 54".

You can always make a removeable deck to put in place in the front, but I doubt you'd be able to stand and fish comfortably without worrying about falling over... it only takes one good hookset to keep you going back, over and into the water (been there, done that).
