Heys Guys here is what I'm trying to do.
2 Batteries in the center of boat, one for TM etc and one for small electronics. I want to have wiring set for my trolling motor in the bow and stern as I have a gas motor but sometimes fish in electric only areas. I have a stereo that will be in center console, a fish finder in center as well. Then I want a bilge on a switch and nav lights on a switch.
I have been searching this site and others for weeks and still feel like I have no clue how to do this. Has anybody done anything similar?? Link??
What parts do I need? do I just hook everything directly to the batteries? Is the a pulg in system for TMs?
As you can see I need some major help here. I have a great design for my coleman crawdad and the only thing I cant figure out is the electrical part. I dont mind researching (actually love it) just can't find a idiots guide to it. Have no clue on gauges, bus bars, fuses, etc thatI see on site.

I think you want to be able to move the trolling motor from front to back with the wires already in place?
you can get a pair of plugs and mount the female ends in the front and back of the boat while mounting the male end to the trolling motor.
I would use 6 or 8 gauge tinned wire for you wiring needs mount the wires with a manual reset breaker that will protect your motor.
as far as your other needs you can use a switch panel to wire everything else with 10 or 12 gauge wire will work for those items

I have two batteries in teh center of the boat, one for trolling motor and accessories, the other for the fishfinder and safety features.

Link to my build above, page 2.

Left terminal block- red wire from battery, feeds the other tow red wires, one red runs to bow, the other to stern, trolling motor feeds.

2nd from left terminal block- black wires, same as red wires above, one from battery feeds the two wires to bow and stern for trolling motor.

The center two terminal blocks are from my 2nd battery- it feeds power to my fishfinder and navigation lights (bow/all-around).

The two terminal blocks on teh right are from teh main battery, same one the trolling motor is attached to. However they have thier own feed back tot eh battery to eliminate electrical noise from teh trolling motor. I use these two to power my bilge pump, livewell pump, and accessory outlets.

As for a wiring diagram, battery, one wire attached to positive terminal, that wire goes to a fuse, then a switch, then teh device (light, pump, fishfinder, etc). Negative wire attached to the other post on the battery, then too the device. It get more complicated after that.
