I'm going to be installing a fish finder to my little 12' Jon i recently modified.( Im looking at the hummingbird Max 170) I have a 12v battery that is attached to my 30lb trolling motor. I was wondering if I could attach my fish finder directly to the battery also, or will this cause some type of feed back or short something out? any advice would be awesome. Thanks everyone

you're going to get mixed reviews from people here on this....

but I've wired mine straight to the battery, only using the fuse inline that came with the finder (if it came with one)... I've never had any interference from the TM in any of my electronics.

The only real interference you might get is the turbulence in the water. Just make sure with your fish finder that you mount the transducer as far from the motors as possible.
