Hey fellas, been away for a lil while. Dealing with life issues (arent we all)... now things are getting back on track and I get to start doing the things I like to do again.... fishing
Anyways... onto the facts... I am going to be doing a lot of night fishing for speckled trout. Obviously i'm gonna need nav lights. I also have a 40# minn kota riptide (pretty energy efficient motor). I wont be relying on just the trolling motor, it will be more for repositioning the boat. I currently run it off of a group 24 deep cycle. I would like to run a radio (like russ's) except with 2 small 5" speakers and one day here soon I plan on getting a fish finder, nothing crazy just a lil $100 one to help get the job done.
Now, the questions... how should I power it all? Do the nav lights, radio and fish finder take much juice to run? I see where some guys run a 24V system, others run a small lawn mower battery... The nav lights will be going for a few hours, the trolling motor will be used intermitantly, radio will probably be going most of the time and when I do get a fish finder, it will most likely be on. What do you guys think?
