Do you realize that the jack plate also sets the motor back?? Almost un avoidable.... Check Tiny Boat Nation for a "Transom Plate"...

Ya'll going about this the HARD way. TH Marine makes what they call a "Mini Jacker" that bolts to the transom and is fully adjustable...
