    Trailer tongue hinge question

I have a 1542 Alweld Jon boat with a steel trailer. The length of the tongue has always been an issue, so I added a swing away joint (Fulton). I added 5-feet to the tongue and now it seems about perfect. I have seen some videos where they recommend running the safety chain back to the original...

Archery hunting Bad then Good 😮

This type of thing is why I eventually bought my own land to hunt on. It's only 60 acres but I have fishing and hunting without worry over someone screwing with me.

    Trailer wheels worth upsizing?

I finally got the boat out yesterday and the trailer with the larger wheels worked great. No rubbing that I can find.

    Finally done upgrading for now.

Work kind of kept me busy and then a couple of vacations. I finally got the boat out on the water yesterday and it's so much nicer than that plastic SunDolphin I was using! I am going to enjoy fishing out of this boat! Everything worked as it should, with the exception of a minor motor issue...

    Boat rating sticker?

Correct, and thanks for clarifying. I called an ex employee today who is a game warden and she said she had never heard of a game warden checking that.

    Boat rating sticker?

Thanks for the reply. The question I was asking is whether not having that sticker/plate could result in a ticket from a game warden.

    Boat rating sticker?

The boat I bought used is an Alweld 1542. It's a 1996 model. It has a "Coastguard approved" sticker but there is no sticker for maximum horsepower rating, occupancy, or weight limits. I thought about contacting Alweld but there is no way to contact them through their website and their Facebook...

    Finally done upgrading for now.

I'll do that. Unfortunately, I had a little surgery two weeks ago that makes sitting kind of tender. But I'm hoping to test it out this week.

That's actually my little portable cooler for drinks. The cleats and bungee came from Lowe's.

    Finally done upgrading for now.

The boat is a new to me 1996 1542 Alweld. I bought it used but in great condition. The previous owner made the floors. I added the foam, electronics, trolling motor, rod mounts, seats, etc. I'm pretty happy! This is a ton more room than my plastic SunDolphin had! My only issue for now is the...

Adding Railblaza tracks on an aluminum Jon with round edges?

I added the Railblaza tracks to both sides of the boat. I did use stainless tapping screws and I'm aware the stainless will eventually interact with the aluminum. I may add some aluminum rivets eventually, but for now it's quite tight and works well.
