Haven't been on here in awhile as I sold my boat but glad to be back. So a few years ago I owned an alumacraft 1442 with no center seat, didn't realize how much I loved it til I sold it and went fishing without it. Now I'm ready to buy one again, liked alumacraft so will probably stay with them...
I have a newer 1442 rivet Alumacraft that is currently electric only. Looking to ad a 20-25hp outboard and want a console. Like the style of a center but am not opposed to a side if that is more practical. Not too concerned about the room lost with a center, I usually stay put when I'm fishing...
I use a tarp for storage with a pvc frame I built, works wonders. I'm more concerned with a cover for trailering as the boat is usually full for long trips.
Alumacraft sells a bow mount bracket that is easily riveted to the front deck. It cost me $40 and was super easy to install, any alumacraft dealer should be able to order you one. Here's a picture:
I'd search around google and see what's for sale to get a ballpark idea. Keep in mind people are going to ask whatever they want, doesn't mean it's worth that price.
I need to buy a new cover, I have a 1442 Alumacraft jon. I currently have the Cabela's jon boat cover and it already tore after 1 season. The corners don't line up with the corners of my boat and that's where it begin to rip. I would be interested in something a bit more custom fit but I don't...
What's up guys? Got a new 6'3" medium rod for X-Mas and need to pair it up with a new reel. I'm thinking in the 2500 size range and very lightweight, I don't like a heavy setup. Does anyone have any recommendations around $50? I keep going back to the Pflueger President but wanted some more...
You'd probably be best off measuring the width of the trailer rather than the boat. My setup's widest part was from fender to fender of the trailer. Then I added guide-ons, these increased the width of the setup by about 1.5-2ft when it was all said and done.
Does anyone know of a ratchet style cover available for a flat nosed jon? I seem to only be able to find them for V's. I like the idea of leaving the straps attached to the trailer and ratcheting the cover down to get it tight. A friend of mine has one and it's a heck of a lot faster than the...
I have a very basic loadrite trailer. I'd like to get a ratchet style boat cover next summer (the kind that you leave the straps on the trailer) but my current trailer won't work for this. My trailer has one long cross member down the middle for the majority of the length of the boat. I'm...
