I am thinking of adding a floor in my jon boat. I want to add closed cell foam for added flotation. My concern is the floor will not be water tight so if it rains or I get water in the boat will the foam keep moister under the floor or will it be able to dry out? Don't want any mold growing...

The price was right I traded a kayak for my tin. Like others I have bumped into things. I really like that I can keep it loaded in my garage with fishing gear and it takes a few minutes to hook it to the truck and hit the lake. Takes longer to pack the ice cest.

I have read a lot of questions on floatations but has anyone ever swamped your boat? This is my first jon boat and not use too the low sides. So was wondering if you do swamp your boat will it float. Or will you have to call in a dive team to retrieve your boat?
