14' flat bottom, semi-v or v for my next boat??

Mod-V is my preference. It tracks a little straighter than a flat bottom Jon and handles chop ok, but not as good as a deep-v. As far as brands go I have a Starcraft but I think any all-welded boat should be fine. Look for something that is all aluminum including the floor. The new Lowe Stinger...

did you check with the OB charger manufacturer to see if they have any diagrams that match what you're trying to do? I would give them a call and ask for some assistance.

    Looking for a camera

I did some research on water-proof digital cameras a while back for my Dad's b-day. I found that the Olympus Tough cameras seemed to be very good but the zoom was only 5x. I prefer Panasonic (also make a very nice WP digi camera) but again the zoom was low at 4.6. Haven't seen any at 10x yet.

    V-boat modification - need input

If you have the time and budget then I think this boat could be a good start. I like that it appears to be complete and not missing anything major. Does everything work? How's the trailer? The last thing I would want is someone's "project" that looked more like a hull full of loose parts. Good...

Starcraft Rogue 1886 project - new decks and livewell

Thanks Bob. Couple of questions for you... the battery hatch is vented on the underside near the motor. the opening is about 2" high x 40" wide. Is that sufficient? Also the gas tank is in the front under the deck and wasn't vented from the factory. Should I install a vent here? Dave

Shop Setup for working with aluminum

This boat mod hobby is addicting which naturally leads me to thinking about doing more. I know some of you guys finish a build then move on to another so I'm assuming you have permanent shops. How are your shops setup? And what tools are required? I'm specifically interested in shops setup for...

    V-boat modification - need input

Yes you can build with aluminum (use 6061). Check out Bassboy's builds. He pretty much wrote the book on building with aluminum. Makes nice trolling pedal trays too I suggest getting one from him if needed. (American Made!) Yes a 3 bench boat can be converted but keep in mind that the seats can...

17.5' 1998 Tracker lost part of bottom support/rail strips

WOW! is there any damage to the gunwale or keel in that general area? The reason I ask is it sounds like the hull might be flexing too much in that area. I would take it to a metal fab shop and see it they could replace to entire piece. best of luck
