    On Board Charger Mounting Question

The reason they recommend not mounting it directly to aluminum is because of the potential for electrolysis. If you're only using it while your boat is in the garage or out of the water it's not a problem. If you're charging your batteries at the dock while your boat is in the water then you...

I am going to have to put some carpet in the boat before sunday, the glare will kill me if i dont. I plan on using hydro turf for the finished product but the boat isnt going to be ready to put anything permanent in. Does anyone know of anything i can use to keep the carpet in place but will...

Here are some pictures of the deck with lids, i used foam to bring the sides up flush with the lids. I will put a thin piece of aluminum over the top of it before the hydro turf goes down.

    16' Tracker Build

I dont have a really good place to mount all of my switches so i got creative and made one out of fiberglass. I took a plastic container, mixed some pigment in the resin and laid up the glass in the container to get the shape. It looks ok, if i had another container that looked better i think it...

Thanks, i have spent so much time taping for the paint job its not funny! Probably 6-8 hours worth of just taping. Of course if i had to do it over again i could probably do it quicker.

    16' Tracker Build

I had to try some different ways to see what was going to give me the best look, once i figured that out it started coming together. Making the patterns have straight lines is what i am finishing up right now, and it is the most tedious thing i think i have ever did.

Paint job isnt going very fast but its starting to look really good, the boat is farther along than the picture shows but i thought i would put up a preview.

Got all of my sanding, priming, and more priming finished. I have the first coat of paint on but i figured i would wait until all the painting is finished before i post pictures. I am going for a very interesting paint job.

Slowly but surely. I think i am finally at a point where things are coming together. I have all of my lids made, floor down, & cooler and back storage in. Going to get hinges put on tomorrow and then finish sanding the boat and getting it ready to paint. All i will have left after the hinges is...

    Gauge?

2sac is right 18G would work fine for under 8 amps. However you will find 14awg or 12awg wire easier to work with and less prone to problems. If it were me i would use a little bigger wire, not because i needed it but because the pros out weigh the cons.
