    2011 Tohatsu 40 TLDI

Hey guys, just got back into another boat and the motor is a TLDI 40 - 2011 year model. Everything checks out but needs a new tilt/trim motor. Part number below. I have found the Tohatsu part number and I know there are several of these that cross-reference over the brands. Can anyone point...

Motor Question - Honda BF 25

Im more-so looking for comparison to my 25HP TWO-Cylinder two-stroke. It would just seem, especially with a load, the Honda would do much better.......right?

Motor Question - Honda BF 25

Appreciate the feedback, how you think power-wise this will compare to my 1996 Evinrude 25 two-stroke? Would it be a worthy upgrade?

Motor Question - Honda BF 25

    Value

I guarantee someone would pay $2,500 that knows about motors. Someone offering $1,200 just doesn't know the value.

    Value

Im assuming that is a 3 cyl correct? Id say the $1,200 mark is MUCH too low. A 2007 is pretty **** new still, and is a sought after, 2 stroke with good power and plenty of opps to mod. Id start around $2,500 for motor maybe more.

    Gonna buy a SS prop!

    Got it!

    Gonna buy a SS prop!

That makes sense Pap, and I do appreciate the shared knowledge from you guys. I think I'll order a tac and check my RPMS before ordering a prop. Actually dead-centering my motor greatly helped with the venting issue. My plan is jack plate/TT (still don't know which one haha) and a SS prop for...

    Gonna buy a SS prop!

How accurate are those Chinese inductive tacks?

    Gonna buy a SS prop!

I'll rephrase it some, with the 10x15 the motor did not rev as high and when you put two people in the boat my speed dropped down to like 21-22, which I think is too much and was lugging the motor. That's why I think the 10x13 is perfect, should pull a load a lot better and sounds like it revs...

    Gonna buy a SS prop!

I'm going to bite the bullet and try out a SS prop. Recently switched form an aluminum 10x15 to a 10x13, didn't lose any top end really and boat is much quicker off the line. I don't have a tach but have a good ear and it sounds like its revving up all the way, and don't think I'd want to rev...

    Buy this.....or this??

Cost comes into play then ha! What if I got a static Jack Plate and added the Panther T&T. I want some setback if I can.... This leads to me asking, the CMC PT-35 offers setback with T&T, what would be the advantages of going with the Panther?
