I have done this with a 12 and 14 boat.I would suggest putting it back a little bit from the bow if possible. You can buy gas line at menards here in Michigan and make your own.

Even out your weight distrubution and that might help. I have a 14ft flatbottom with a 20 horse johnson that used to do the same but after I added a casting deck and moved my gas tank to the bow the problem went away.

I finally traced my outboard problems to a stripped spark plug receptical , I plan on installing a helicoil to fix the problem but I'm not sure what size I need. The motor is a 1970 johnson 20hp seahorse model # 20R70E. Any help is appreciated.

I checked the plugs and they are pretty black, they were new plugs at the end of last season maybe ran 4 or 5 times. What does black plugs indicate?

This is the first I have heard of using a sealer and can't find any other info on it , is there anyone else using a sealer?

What kind of sealer should be used?

I used to have an outboard with a similer ploblem, if I pumped the primer bulb before starting it for the day it would be fine.
