Not the rod holders the material they are attracted to

Does anyone have any ideas by what I mean. Most people on here state that they spared both sides of the plywood they were using. I'm confused because the glue from Menard's says to apply it to unfinished wood.

The troller is a Minn kota 36" 34# Endura

I picked up a transom mount trolling motor and I want to turn the head around and use it as a bow mount. I have a 1448 Lowe tin and I need some ideas and pics of what others have done. I would also like to know what works and what doesn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The product is Menard's marine carpet glue and the substrate is marine plywood

The instructions on my carpet glue states not to be used on painted, poly treated, urethane treated etc. What are your thoughts?

I would like to know how you attached your hatches that have used aluminum framing ??? Do you add wood or attach right to the aluminum? How do you scribe for the opening??? Thanks for your input!
