I am having a hard time finding a replacement fuel gauge cap for my Quicksilver 6.6 Gal. tank. Sight glass is cracked and yellowed. Any help is appreciated. Photo of a tank like mine.

A google of what you are asking for ("fuel gauge cap for my Quicksilver 6.6 Gal. tank") should turn up all kinds of them.

Except the picture of his type of tank seems to have the fuel connection built into the cap along with the gauge. None of those found like that using your search criteria. Might just have to find a regular fuel gauge cap to replace the other cap with nothing, and use the existing one for the fuel line.

Sorry for late reply, thanks for the ideas, still can't find a gauge cap!?

You may need to go to a swap meet or two to find a replacement.

I doubt they produce the OEM or an aftermarket piece. Check your local marine shops for anything in the used parts area. Sometimes you can get lucky.

Or google up boat wreckers in Wisconsin and you'll find a few of them hopefully nearby that may have this item.

I have the same tank for my 25HP Merc. Gauge has yellowed and unreadable. Unlikely to find that large of fill cap with integrated gauge. I have just been taking the fill cap off when I needed to check it.

Years back I had a 12 gallon tank with no gage, what a pain to check for fullness ! I made a dipstick from a piece of wooden dowel rod. Added one gallon at a time and made a mark on the dipstick. While it took some time, it worked out great. Tank was under a ledge on the boat, hard to see in, but the dipstick turned out to be very accurate, take off the cap, stick dipstick in, then out and replace cap, knew how full/ empty the tank was. Gages are easier, but often not accurate, never had one as accurate as my dipstick anyway.........
