I would go mod v. It's a little better ride when things get choppy. The square front of the flatbottom will you just a little more floor space. But, the mod v gives you a better ride. Unless its ALOT cheaper i woukd go mod v over the flat bottom and not look back. Im very pleased with mine

Well the wife gave me the go ahead on a new motor. I think instead of 25 im gonna hold off and save for 40-50hp as im wanting to upgrade from a 1648 to an 1860. So i might just buy a newer like 06+ four stroke

Have you looked into getting one made? Probably be a little pricey but it would be an exact fit

1648 all the way. I have a HEAVY welded 1648 and with a 25 i run 26mph. Boat is rated for a 40 maybe even a 50. The amount of boat you're gonna gain and stability is well worth it from a 1542 to a 1648.

I would go prop over jet. Cheaper to fix and more power. A 25hp jet you wont be getting 25hp out of. I havent heard anything bad about the smaller grizzlys. Im looking into a 1754 or 1860

Why two stroke? If i had $4000 i would go 4 stroke sure. I love my Johnson 2 smoke but mixing gas adds up.

The bottom of the pods are supposed to be at a slight angle upwards. Whenever youre on plane the nose is higher which makes the pods sit level. As long as the bottom of the pod is in the water youre benefiting from more surface displacement.

Got it figured out, dug the old timerbase out the trash and looked at the wires on it. I dont know why i didnt think of that earlier. Torqued the flywheel down and noticed my throttle was stuck. So fooled around trying.to figuring it out. Took the flywheel back off. Aparently when i was...

Thanks, i looked it up but i face the same problem. Both wores are black and white. Both have the same amount of black and white lol. Its telling me left is white/black and right is black/white. Just my luck

I got prices a week ago for some 25's Tohatsu rope start $3250 Yamaha rope start $3350 Mercury rope start $3200ish no prop. $3600 with custom stainless prop. Haven't got a chance to check out honda or suzuki. I found out honda does financing. Thought that was pretty neat
