Its plenty sturdy, it lools like the patches are 3/16" aluminum.

Not exactly I have a large aluminum front deck amd its a few inches underneath it. They patched it from the bottom and it fixed it I just dont like the fact I kno that they are there. and here is onr of the patches

No even taking off it doesnt really lift the bow that high. Do uou think if I trim it in more it would stop it?

My transom was 20" I cut it down to 17" for a short shaft. I made it 20" wide and my motor fits perfect. I actually had to raise it up a hair. If its a deal then cutting the transom is easy and very well worth it if its the layout you want

Most 14ft jons are rated for 15HP I believe. I would try to find out what your hull is rated for then go woth the maximum.you can always buy the motor and keep it for when you upgrade boats

The only scotchcoat I can find online is like liquid electrical tape but epoxy. And I thought about using the marine two part epoxy but I have a large area I want to cover. Im gonna look more into both of these though
