    Military Battery Terminals- Questions

Agree...I may go back to the standard marine clamps. How do you cover the entire added marine terminal clamp and also the solo threaded battery post? Most covers only cover the marine clamp and its threaded post, but do not cover the threaded post of the battery.

    Military Battery Terminals- Questions

I am going to use marine terminals over the large posts on my Group 27 starting wet cell marine battery....thus avoiding the use of the built-in threaded post (not a strong connection). I found these Military terminals and they look really good.... they are low profile (reduce overall heigh by...

Quality 100AH Lithium LiFeP04 battery for less than $200

Just did a bunch of research on starting batteries for my new '23 Mercury 60hp 4 stroke. According to both Mercury Marine customer service, as well as my local Mercury dealer.....ONLY wet cell LA starting/cranking batts are acceptable for motor starting. The stators are not designed to charge...

    Alumacraft 16v utility

I had a 2017 Alumacraft 16V. You can search for many of the upgrades I did. It is a great boat! Simple, stable and well built. The WT design is great. Mine had the Yamaha F25....awesome motor and lightest of the 25s. If you were closer....the new owner recently contacted me to inform me if...

Have any of you upgraded your Minn Kota PD to I-Pilot w/BT? Questions....

Great thread! Learning quite a bit so when I get to finally use my new Terrova, I'll know what to expect. The new remote is a heavy one. I'll be purchasing the available foot pedal so I can have both options. The carabiner is also a great idea...however I often fish with shorts that have no...

    Towing with Smaller SUV

I did tow boats with our Sequoia. Different than a Pilot, but still an SUV. Will it tow fine and safe, yes. Do I prefer towing with a truck, yes. The SUV rear end is much softer than a truck and will squat some. SUV wheel base is shorter and what you'll notice....shorter equals more up/down...

Going after two free boats and motors?

Not much to add as most options have been covered. I'm a little confused about your tow vehicle. You mentioned your TC has a 1000# tow capacity, yet you towed a 28' Airstream quite a distance. That Airstream is over 5000#. How did you accomplish towing that Airstream? Perhaps I misread...

1 or 2 Batts for Starting and House?

I'll stick with a group 31 wet cell LA starting battery. Interstate 31-XHD and Die Hard heavy duty farm battery have high CCA. Either should last for several hours with what I'm running. Interstate Farm Batt

    Tracker V16 motor height

I have a new Pro Guide V16SC. I chose the 60hp, as it is 125# lighter than the 75/90. It is said to perform between 25-30mph, depending on weight of load. Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide specific details with regard to speed and RPM, as I have yet to take it out! I'll be taking it out...

LiTime LiFePO - Charging and Balancing?

Although my LiTime batts do have a low temp BMS, they do not have a shunt. Do yours? If not, how do you monitor....volts, amps, charge/discharge, etc.?

1 or 2 Batts for Starting and House?

UPDATE: According to Mercury...they want the starting battery to be a starting/cranking battery...NO deep cycle and/or Dual purpose. Reason....60hp motor uses a stator type charging system (not your typical alternator) and the 60hp is not designed to charge deep cycle /dual purpose type...

1 or 2 Batts for Starting and House?

I currently have one group 24 LA batt that is used as both a starting batt and house batt. Boat came equipped this way new. I was first thinking about adding a second group 24 LA batt as it will fit in the batt compartment. This is the max configuration that will fit. However, since I went...
