    Rivet repair questions

That's the problem. These holes have already been drilled out to 1/4".

Things I have learned about boat trailers

Used this one on my latest trailer re-do: lots of anti seize on the shackle bolts. Won't wash off and keeps the rust away.

Are keel rollers meant to support weight of the boat?

I've always seen trailers set up so the keel rollers are just under the keel when on the trailer. I would make sure that the majority of the weight is on the bunk boards. I always leave an inch or so between the keel and roller.

Small hole in a 1436 jon boat transom

Is there a similar hole on the other side? Or a rivet? Can you tell how the transom wood is mounted? How about a picture of the whole transom. 5200 is permanent. Between that and a #10 or #12 you should be water tight. That's how I always mount transducers and the like. Pretty accepted method...

    ahhh ..? tracker 1754 grizzly .. what motor ?

Are you looking new? Gently used? I would run any new 25hp that I could afford. Are you wanting all the bells and whistles; power trim, electric start, charging capability? My opinion is that I love my e-tec and I would love to have one for a tiller motor. I really think that the weight and...

    Rivet repair questions

I bought a boat in need of repair. It fit the budget so I went for it. The PO removed quite a few rivets and they need to be replaced. However not all of the holes are round. How do I go about fixing them. Also, I can't find this answer anywhere. Does the air hammer go on the button head or...

    rod holders

Thanks for the replies. I would like to make my own. I don't know who upload the photo from photobucket, but I can't see them at work. Could someone upload it as an attachment, I can see those. I'd really like to see the ones that Quackrstackr made. I'm think of the driftmaster FT-09 I...

    rod holders

I'm looking at putting some rod holders on my boat I like the driftmaster brand. However, I don't know which ones I really need. I am going to be doing some crappie fishing this spring and I am going to catfishing this summer and fall. I crappie fish with bream busters and zebco 33's for the...

    i need a wiring diagram

What russ has done is put light sockets at the front and the back of his boat. Run the power from you bus bar or distribution block to each of them. This way they have power all the time. They usually have some type of plug or cover so that they won't get water in them. When you plug in the...

    i need a wiring diagram

You would want to go with a double pole double throw Switch DPDT. This will allow you to turn both the front and rear light on or just the rear anchor light on. These are a bit more complicated to wire up. However, if you don't want the ability to just turn on the anchor light by its self...

Is 15 H.P. worth an up grade

Max for the boat is 90. No H.P. restrictions that I know of.

Is 15 H.P. worth an up grade

I currently have a 60 h.p. mercury on my boat. I see a similar year mercury 75 for sale locally for a decent price Is 15 h.p. worth the trouble? For the record my motor has a broken skeg and I think it has a squeaky lower unit bearing. So that is going to be factored in as well.

    quick question

NO. OSB is not intended for that type of use. It's not strong enough even when it hasn't rotted. Don't do it.

    Weight Distribution ?

You want the weight evenly distrubitued from the front to the back. You, are probably going to be the heaviest part of the boat. When you get up and move your going to change the dynamic of the boat.

    Preferance

I wanted a center console. My wife wanted a side console. We have a side console. I like both. Going from a tiller to any type of steering is going to be good much easier to control the boat. I like center consoles becasue you can move around the entire edege of the boat. But with that being...

18ft smokercraft new project soon start

One can never have to many projects. That trailer looks good for about a 16' boat. There shouldn't be any boat hanging off the back of the trailer. I would also ditch those rollers and put on some 8-10 ft bunks to better support that boat. But I don't know if your going to have enough tounge...

    i need a wiring diagram

Well, you going to have to find a place to mount either a switch panel for your switches. It is difficult to draw up a good wiring diagram without knowing where you are planning on putting the switches, battery, and the depth finder. Your depth finder should turn off and on on it's own. I...

    i need a wiring diagram

Basically all you need to do for switches is put them on a the 12V pos wire for a SPST switch. The 12V neg will just run straight to the battery. Just put the switch inline between the battery and whatever you want to turn off.
