Not saying you can't catch catfish in shallow water, but I have found the bigger ones prefer deeper water. Think of them as vacuum cleaners that go to the lowest point to pick up the scraps that gravity pulls down to them.

In my experience with catfish, I find that to catch bigger fish you use bigger bait.

That was probably $20.00 or more in ammo cost to shoot that right there. When you get into fast firing weapons, you look at it as money coming out of the barrel at supersonic speed. It can get expensive really quick.
