Bracket for bow mount trolling motor

This is just a mock-up using some scrap I had laying around...done so I can get measurements to cut the final pieces 1/8"x2" angle for the base - those will be through-bolted to the platform 1/8"x3/4" angle to support the 1/8"x6"x20" sheet that the TM mount bolts to 1/8" sheet cut to proper...

Bracket for bow mount trolling motor

On my F-9 build, I'm going to be scratch-making a bracket for the Edge-45 out of 1/8" angle and sheet aluminum. I just got the last main piece, still need some machine screws...but I'll post pics on my build-thread as I piece together the sucker. Stay tuned.

Anyone ever try hand crank trolling motor

Actually it's called 'stern sculling' - and it's a technique as old as boats. This guy uses it on his 31' sail-cruiser.

Eva foam vs just painting my decks with oil based paint

If you're gonna paint it - mix in something to give you some traction. Light sprinkle of clean sand on the wet paint is one way to do it. Otherwise that painted surface is going to be as slick as ice when it gets wet...and possible toss you overboard. A good quality paint preceded by a...

    what is this?

Given my budget, I'll stick with my 'old faithful' - a Stevens 775a in 12ga

    1972 Alumacraft F-9 Lake Master

Somewhat - but bass season doesn't open for another 2+ weeks (May 14), and I'm primarily a bass-chaser.

    1972 Alumacraft F-9 Lake Master

Still moving along - the last of the FRP to block off compartments to the under-frame area are in. Basic templates for the casting deck and rear area are cut. Lines drawn on rear port/starboard templates for cutting the hatches once the main pieces are cut. That hole in the rear template is...

    Fisher Boat Project

X3 For my F-9, I lost all the foam it had when I pulled the seats - added back by framing a sub-floor and using pour-foam. You want foam, as much as possible.

Fasteners to attach new floor to aluminum angle supports.

Far as I remember, it's the way it worked before. You quote a post that has a quoted post in it...you get everything.

Fasteners to attach new floor to aluminum angle supports.

Well something 'blinked' - cause now it seems to be working.

    Dimming LED light strings

Exactly what Dale said Having done hobby electronics, and buying my LEDs from Super Bright for years - trying to 'MacGyver' a solution without having that background will probably end up with blown LEDs Get a dedicated dimming circuit - it might cost a little bit, but at least your LEDs will...

Fasteners to attach new floor to aluminum angle supports.

I'm planning on pre-drilling with a 3/32 double-end pilot bit...mainly to reduce the chance of splitting the plywood, not to put a pilot hole in the angle...I'm only using 1/16" aluminum in the framing anyway.

Fasteners to attach new floor to aluminum angle supports.

Self-tapping, truss-head sheet metal screws. That's what I'm installing the decking on the F-9 with.

Correct sizing of trailer to boat?

I don't think you need 3' - my winch-mount on the F-9 is only 2' back from the front of the coupler....about the same distance it was on my old Duo runabout...that was plenty of distance for tight corners. Ya, long as it's between the outside edges of the tires, I think it's fine. Only thing...

Correct sizing of trailer to boat?

I don't see a coupler on the front of that trailer - but even if it's 'right there'...I think you're good to go...just don't take tight turns if the coupler is mounted right at the end there. Rear looks good - you got the transom supported on the bunks...that's the main thing.

    Did it....Purchased a 2017 Alumacraft V16!

    Oh the possibilities for that.

    Rotted Ribs?

That would be my first guess as well. Pressure treated wood and aluminum don't play well together.
