Found the dreaded waterlogged foam and decided to drill out rivets and pull foam. Definitely water logged I almost have all out of the 2 larger compartments. Figured I would track the progress here.

Sure doesn't look like a fun job to me. Have you decided what you will replace it with? Sheet foam or the expansion stuff like was there originally?

For my F-9, I lost all the foam it had when I pulled the seats - added back by framing a sub-floor and using pour-foam. You want foam, as much as possible.

Man was hoping I didn’t have to lol. What are the major cons of not? Of course if submerged boat would sink, but does it add any structural integrity ?

Integrity no, safety 100%. One rogue wave, accidental flip, you will want it there for sure.

add the foam. think winter and storms, not calm and 90 degrees. i flipped a pirogue in february because bow ran up a small stump. boat teetered as i tottered. i recovered everything of value because it was all secured and the boat floated......belly up. i would have died of hypothermia otherwise. you ever gonna put a loved one in that boat?
