If you've got one you've probably noticed that reverse is useless unless you're trying to fill the back of the boat up with water. I made a cardboard template and used it to cut a treated 1x6 to make a plug. Painted to match. Mo betta!

1542 with a '01 yami f25. I run about 7-8 miles round trip on a normal day. I have no idea of the mileage, but it's so good that I'm getting rid of my 6 gal tank for a 3 gal.

Just rebuilt the carb on my '01 Yamaha F25. Put it back on the motor, and when I pump the bulb fuel comes out of this port. What gives?

The rule of thumb is that you can raise the vent plate 1" above the bottom of the hull for every 2" of setback. So you should be fine. But it all depends on water pressure and or if the motor starts cavitating due to being too high.

How much is the setback on the jack plate?

Yeah you might be right. I was just hoping for 30 plus out of that set up. I've got it on a mini jacker, so I would think it'd be a little faster than a regular set up.

I'm setting the valve clearance on my 2001 yami 25 four stroke. Just to make sure before I button it up, are the intake valves on the port or starboard side of the motor?

Anyone ever pull their own lower unit apart? How tough of a job is it? I've got a 2000 25 Yamaha that I think the gear shift clutch needs replacing. It won't go into reverse no matter how I adjust the linkage.
