Something on your transom is cracked.

I run Lake Michigan with a 15" transom & never had a problem.

Turn the motor up side down & spray some penetrating fluid on the drive shaft so it runs down to the splines.

There is a freeze plug on the right hand side of the motor with serial #'s of the motor on it.

You will need driveshaft, shift linkage, spacer,& extra bolts for the extension spacer. Any marina that works on older motors should have these items.

The plant,Chris Craft (where it used to be) is only 6 miles from my house.I know people that worked there ,even Chris Smith,owner. Remember as a kid seeing boats rolling out on rails.

I mix mine in a 6 gal can & pour into my boat fuel tank as needed.
