I did it with mine, I put the rigid foam on the exterior of it when I was doing my resto. Not sure how well it will hold ice when it gets hot but I will find out.
Doubt you will able to put the wind/solar on your boat but that doesn't mean you can't go green. Why don't you rig up wind/solar at home to charge you batteries?
I don't know much about motors(you do obviously) but going down on prop pitch is probably a good idea. Is it possible the floatation foam is waterlogged making the boat much heavier than it should be?
Looks good, post lots of pictures! Looked at Fury specs 14'9" long and 69.5" wide, only 4.5" wider than yours. I wouldn't worry too much about the width of your storage boxes.
They are both 14' but the Fury is wider in the beam I think. If you go to Lund's website they have a catalog archive and you can find the specs for your boat. I think the beam on yours is 65" or so and the Fury is 72-3".
I am gonna call the project finished, but is anything really ever finished? Couple things I may do; paint inside, add rod holders for trolling and possibly a drivers seat. Here are a few pics of the finished boat on the water!
