Had same issue with Hummingbird transducer. They actually made a little rubber plug to go into the gap in the tranducer bracket. I called them and they sent it to me for free.
Would you build your own TV, even if you could? That's how I answer that question when someone asks be should they build or buy. Computers are a commodity now. Buy one, use for a few years...throw it away and buy another one.

Maybe you should google hydrodynamics and learn the difference between planing hulls and displacement hulls. Thinking is a side affect of not knowing....so nothing to rethink on my end. Good luck with turning your jon boat into a catamaran.

Really not that bad. But, it's still costing you some power. Knock the pins out and and straighten it. If it's in a bind and hard to get out, pass a rope over it and give it a snatch...will pop right out. I have to straighten mine at least twice a year. You might get some advice on beveling...
Ouch. That line can burn the brushes up on the motor. Spare prop is nice to have. A few years ago I was way back in some flooded timber and my TM prop got loose and came off in 7 ft of water. Took hours to get the boat out.
