    Stradic ci4 2500

I have a 2500 and a 3000. They are the older CI4, not the +, but they work just fine! Practically stole the 3000. Picked it up on closeout last year for $144!!

    Shimano Stradic Vs Shimano Sustain

I have 2 older Sustains, LOVE them. I played with a new one at a Field and Stream and I wouldn't give you the Stradic price for it. I'd go Stradic or CI4+. Myself, I'm either going with a JDM Stella or a Rarenium CI4+

    Stradic ci4 2500

Got a 2500 a couple years ago and just picked up a 3000 on clearance about 2 months ago. I like them more than a little!

Where to find Fuji rod tips that don't cost a fortune

Being they are SiC, and 2 of them are Ti framed, they're not gonna be cheap anywhere. Authorized Fuji dealers are required to sell at MSRP to retail customers and the wholesale prices are set by Fuji as well. Give Karen at Bingham a call (913-897-6657). She's pretty fair on the shipping charges.

Rod build from start to finish.

No, those jigs were purchased. I've since upgraded to some nicer ones that cut the ring in to more pieces. The slots for the saw are much thinner too, allowing for much straighter cuts and better checkerboard alignment.

    Hook Brands....Does it really matter?

I used to use Gamakatsus exclusively. Then, I broke a hook on a fish. just the eye and part of the shank came back. thought it was a fluke, til it happened again on another fish, with a different size hook......then again. I gave all of my Gammie dropshot hooks away and switched to Owner...

Set up for the alabama rig?

Rod should be able to handle 4oz or more. You'll have to venture into the musky or saltwater section to find anything that will not explode on the cast. I'm currently building one for a customer and I'm using what's classified as an all purpose saltwater/cobia/tarpon/barracuda blank. It's a...

Post a picture of your pooch (Mans Best Friend)

Meet Ms. Taylor (NO, she isn't named after the singer). We rescued her on Sunday from the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley. She is a 1.5 year old flat-coated retriever/border collie mix. Someone must have spent some time with her because she knows lots of commands and listens really well. She...

    North Fork Composites

I finally finished the NFC and had a chance to field test it on some Erie smallies in June. My initial impression was correct. This rod is lighter in power than rods I typically dropshot with, but it did not lack the power to boat some 4# and 5# smallies. Overall finished weight of the rod is...

I didn't realize that size wasn't made anymore.

Reel weight and another shimano vs daiwa

If it's a UL, I'd opt for a Sahara 750. I have one on my 7' light bluegill rod, and it's great.

    North Fork Composites

Thanks Jim, that was one of those ideas found in the bottom of a few beer bottles. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out (pun intended!)

    North Fork Composites

While waiting for some parts for other rods to come in, I decided to sneak in some time for MY NFC. Here's the grip and reel seat assembly for your viewing pleasure.

    North Fork Composites

This past weekend, I attended/worked a booth at the International Custom Rod Building Exposition (ICRBE) in High Point, NC. We sold Batson, St. Croix and North Fork blanks and various other rod building components. I currently fish St. Croix and Batson rods, but no North Fork. Since we sell 'em...

    Vinyl Flooring Options

I put that in my 16' Sea Nymph. Nice stuff......a little hard on the knees if you're wearing shorts. I don't remember it costing that much, but that was in 2004.
