It was a custom mud motor with a 16hp Duromax. Hated that thing, so glad to have gotten rid of it. I hardly used it for what it was made for. Just a pain in the *** to use regularly compared to an outboard.

Hi all. Posted a few threads earlier regarding my (new to me) Mercury motor and some jon boat questions. I have a 1436 Alumacraft with a Mercury 9.9 four-stroke. Located in NE FL. Been browsing the site for awhile, tons of good info and mods to do! :D

I'd like to do this as well, but I would need to splice and extend my current wiring setup. Any tips on doing this and keeping it water proof? I don't want to run new wiring throughout the trailer.

I really want some on my jon boat as well... looks/feels great compared to bare aluminum. Cost is another thing :shock:

Absolutely... Ran it for about 5 minutes or so while flushing and removed the gas connector to burn out remaining gas. Wiped down outside of motor and spray with a little Armorall ;)

Just recently purchased a 2006 Mercury 9.9 four-stroke off CL from a local seller. It was used on a dinghy for this gentlemen's larger boat, aka, hardly used at all. The thing is in mint condition and runs like a champ. Took it out on the ICW last weekend and going again this Saturday. Runs like...

I bougt some stencils as well for like $10. Way better than I could do myself. Bought some rattle cans from local store and will be doing mine best marsh impression later this summer. 8)

I bought a riveted because it was cheaper, lighter, and more practical for what I do. I'm not running through flooded woods or anything crazy. :mrgreen:
