I cheated and took it to a machine shop and had it drilled out and a helicoil installed. Im tired of screwing around with this thing.

Well I finally ground out the tap with my Dremel and some diamond coated burrs, but I still cant break the bolt loose! I tried heating the block around the bolt with low heat. I don't know if the bolt is corroded or if it has some kind of sealant on the treads. I've removed lots of broken bolts...

I need some ideas on how to remove a broken bolt. I also broke the easy out off in the bolt. I have been soaking it with pb blaster. I was going to try and grind out the the easy out with a dremel ,but I thought I would wait and see if anyone has any better ideas. Thanks

Well yesterday I ran her in a barrel of water and she ran fine. I guess I'll see what she'll do at the lake. I guess if it does it again I'll pull one spark plug wire off and she if it runs any different, then try the other. It might be ignition because the bottom spark plug is quit a bit...

Well thats the thing, I was trying to order a carb kit ,but they all stop at 1968 and I have a 1966. I was just making sure that there wasnt something different on mine. I took the carb apart and cleaned it out and put it back together with the old gasket because it looks like it is rubber...

I got the info off the can THIOKOL MC-236 mil-s-8802f It's a really good sealant because it's nor rtv and it doesnt get real hard either. Eric

I don't know about anybody else ,but I was a crewchief in the Marine Corps and we used a 2 part fuel tank sealent on the aircraft called 8802. I used it on my old boat and it worked great. I think it can be bought at aviation supply houses on the net. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ok thanks for the info, Yeah she pushed the boat quite well! It surprised us how fast we could go. We were used to my little chrysler 6hp wow what a difference! I think I like the Evinrude.

Oh sorry I posted in another thread, I noticed a small bead of water develop on the top cyl when I was running it in a barrel of water last week. It didn't do it when we were on the lake so I'll just keep an eye on it for now.

I beleive its probably pre 1965. Had alot off coats of paint on it probably had at least 4. Could not read the decal on the side I beleive it was red not sure.
