Me and a buddy made it down to Lake Barkley Tue and Wed this week. Tue was not good very windy and few bites no keepers. I have this motor mocked up to the jack plate and boat with a chainfall. Does this look like it is at the right spot in relation to the bottom of the boat? Does this look good or does it need to go higher or lower? Thanks guys Dave

I found a 1985 25hp Mercury long shaft. They say the compression is good and it runs and shifts out good. They are asking $650 but no controls just the motor is it worth that? Thanks Dave

Long shaft motor or short shaft motor, how do you know which one you can use? I have a 1448 Seaarc and want to put a 20 or 25 hp motor on it with stearing controls. Does it mater if it's a long or short shaft motor? Thanks Dave

? For you guys using piano hinge for your hatch lids. Are you putting the hinge on the lid and then carpeting or carpeting then putting the hinge on? Or is there another way I'm not thinking of? Thanks Dave

How thick should my plywood be on the front deck and floor area? What do you guys think? Also would you add any more framing support anywhere? The plywood on the front deck will run from the front tip back to the second floor support. Thanks Dave

I just remembered I have an old awning that used to be on the house, it's shoved behind the shed. That thing is made of 1" box aluminium and lots of it. I think I can make some nice deck framing out of that. Modification costs just went down :D . Sounds like bow mounted trolling motor money to me 8)
