Hello,
I am new to this sight, but have been reading over it the last couple days and have been inspired by all you guys with your absolutely awesome conversions! I have been been working on and off on a 11.5 ft v-hull for the last few years, obviously more off than on  , mostly the reason is because i never really knew what to do with it. It really could be a neat boat and it feels really sturdy. Its beam width is about 47" and at the back it is about 43-44". Really at this point i would really like some suggestions on paint, what type what brands, etc. i have been researching and i like the blue marine stuff but man is it expensive for the whole deal! ialso got boat for free with a pretty neat traileras a gift from my grandpa so that helps the budget :D Once again comment suggestions would be greatly appreciated from the experts on this stuf. I really mean it!

Thanks, well first of all im not familiar at all with putting pic on forums (this is my first one and i'm not the most computer oriented). Well i plan on fishing for bluegill, crappie, bass, maybe some catfish. but mainly panfish and bass. iwould like to have a rear deck and a front deck that i could stand up on it wouldnt have to be a really tall front just a decent elevation that i can put storage under and a level area to stand up on also a floor on the bottom but just an i dea , Good ,Bad?

Things to check would be how much weight your boat is rated for. I would look through as many mods as possible and pick and choose ideas. I looked for several months before I started mine. Posting pics isn't too hard. I just go through photobucket and you can resize pictures on there. Then click on bottom link of picture and it copies it. Then just paste into post.

The boat is rated for 375 pounds, but i know a guy in my town who owns a welding buisiness and was thinking of adding pontoons to the sides of the boat and have them match the shape of the boat more capacity and way more stable. just a thought. :-k

But my main concern with the boat is to paint and and would really like advice on that first please. Because i have here completely gutted and sanded on the outside completly. There is like three coats of paint on it. I figure if i just sand and clean really good then that will be good enough plus i didnt want to strip all the paint mainy because as much any thing if seals up the boat really tite

Beat me to the punch... I had started to post the same thing and some steak salesman  came to the door. :LOL22:

Yeah i actually did read that but thanks Jim for sending me to it because i did read it again and understand more on how the etch works but there is only few places where it is bare aluminium, which is where i took a rotary sander and spent like an hour and a half sanding, you should be able to see that once (if) i get the pictures loaded up!
