I got a 12 foot sears aluminum v-hull boat in the spring. I have been meaning to fix it up and take it out. I'm a newbie....of course...but have a question. The boat holds water with no problem. I am currently sanding it down and going to do a paint job on it. The question is, The boat has been loved, and I see where the previous owner had taken out rivets and had a couple small holes. The holes are filled with this green putty stuff. I tried sanding over it and didn't work that great, and I don't want to mess anything up. Does anyone know what it is, and what would be "the proper" way to fix something like that. Like I said, it holds water no problem. I just think it will look ugly with the new paint job, and I want to make sure that it will stand up to the test when I am out on the water. I will try and get pictures as soon as I can to better explain my self. Also there are some "extra" stuff I want to take off, and it will leave holes where the screws are. Any advise on filling the holes. I have read many variations and some I just have no clue what they are talking about. Any help from the tin experts, would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Randy
