So, I picked up a 14' v hull (I think a modified v) for $250. It doesn't have any repairs that I was able to see. It doesn't have a HIN on it. It does have a serial number that starts with TD. We have no clue as to make of boat. It looks like someone in the past made it a platform boat, but it was stripped when the PO got it. It's right at 5' wide at the widest point. I have several things that need to be done to it. For one I have a '81 Johnson 35 hp that I want to use for it. It's a long shaft though, so I'll need to raise the transom. Also, the motor is console steer, so I'm thinking about making a steering console for it. I have the boat that the motor came out of (fiberglass and rotten) so I have all the controls and such. I want a flat fishing platform on the front and the ability to do some trolling with it.

I've been looking at threads on here like crazy and still haven't decided how exactly I want it set up. I fish for pretty much everything so I need something that will work for it all. I know I'm not going to have a boat that is perfect for all, but want something that will be functional for it all.

I do have some corrosion on the hull of the boat right in front of the stern. It is pretty easily pulled off. I'm going to try to get down to bare metal and then see how bad it is. I might have to fill it in with something.

Here's a few pics of the boat. I've already removed the "transom" and the angle iron that was on the stern. I know I'm going to have to really beef up the transom for the 35hp long shaft motor.

I'm open to any and all suggestions

Nice to see an old gal getting fixed up to be back on the water. =D>

I'm not sure of the make. I think I recognize the back corners and brace but not sure. Post a few pics of her sides and back transom. The body lines will usually help ID a boat. Perhaps someone else can help as well.

Keep us posted on your progress!

New transom wood will be a breeze on that boat. :) Suggest either plywood (untreated!) or White Oak, then seal 2-3X in Resin.

Also, are you sure that hull is rated for a 35HP?
