I have started working on my little boat.

Started out with a brand new 1436 fisher brand new shore lander trailer and a brand newnissan 8hp motor. It was all and well for a month or so then I began to plan out some of the mods I wanted. Looking at all the great build on here gave me some inspiration.

This is a couple days after I brought it home. The only mod so far was the vertical trailer guides. I'll edit in better pics in the next couple of days.

The next thing I did was buy a used mariner 15hp just stumbled upon this motor for sale for $250 runs just as good as the brand new one. It just has a little rock rash is all. The new motor was sitting really low in the water and spraying thinside of the boat with water. That led me to raise the motor up about 3" with a 2x12 board. That helped a lot with the spray and put the cavitation plate even with the bottom of the boat. Also added tie off cleats as these boats don't have any from the factory.

This pic the sides are getting trimmed and fitted in to be welded.

This is with the sides all finish welded in. Need to wire in all the accessories still.

Got everything all wired up yesterday, worked great no problems. Also Picked up a new optima blue top for power. First thing I noticed when backed the boat into the water was empty it doesn't wheely any more it sits ice and level. The float pods are exilent they really helped out the stability of the boat I can stand on the back float pod and it only goes under water about a 1/4" I'm a big guy too 6'3" and 215#. It planes out very level and at a very slow speed of 7mph now. also noticed the little tunnel made by the pods fills completely up with water at around 3-4mph all the way upt to the top of the pods. I can now back up the boat without the water comeing within 2" of the gunnel. Went out last night at 9 and stayed out for about an hour before the sprinkles hit we got one 4pound catfish. We don't normily go for bass around here, we live one mile from a river.
