New member, long time "reader". I just picked up a 14' Sears Gamefisher. Not sure how far I will take this build as I really want a 1648  , but just couldn't pass this deal up. So I plan to give this old girl a modern makeover, here she is today when I brought her home.
Thanks. First plans are to strip everything out, the seats are shot and all the old electrical wires look to have seen better days. Then inspect for leaks etc. Trying to decide what paint to use for the exterior, debating between Parker or Majic. Cabelas has the parker on sale at the moment. Would really like to seethe Sand Tan color on a boat.

Awesome project boat! What size outboard are you gonna go with?
As far as outboards go I'm not sure, the coast guard tag is super faded, but i can make out a "15" so I'm guessing that is max rating. The outboard will probably come down the road a while if at all. Where I plan to use this boat mostly is "idle" speed only with the "big" motor. So as for now it will just be my 50 lb troller mounted on front, with a big foot switch. Planning a trip to BPS for Spring Classic Sale, and will most likely pick a lot of goodies up then.
Managed to get a little work done today after work. Stripped everything out and flipped her over. I found one visible craack that had been puttied up with something. Scraped and picked most of it out. Next I plan to do a leak test, probably this weekend, to see where else i may take on water. Debating on if I'm even going to do paint before this spring. I may just concentrate on making it more fishing friendly. I am pretty sure I know the layout I am going to go with as far as seats and floor.
