Hey all,

First off, thanks for being a great resource. Up until this new project I've been fishing out of a little tinner I was able to make into a neat little deal from the threads here.

I recently picked up a '56 Arkansas Traveler side console for a good price, complete redo though. I'm about to start stripping it down and applying some gluvit to seal it up (only had 8 rivets with a gentle weep so I am going to do it in the inside so I don't have to paint the bottom, I wanna keep the original look to it).

My intention is to put a casting deck with a pedestal in the front of the console, hang a trolling motor off the hood and put some storage there. From the console to the transom, i want to put a lower floor, as close to the hull as possible. My question is, how will I have to tie in the floor so I don't lose stability in the boat? I don't want it to flex too much and I figure removing 2 benches to do it would create a bit of a hole as far as that goes. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

That side console is pretty slick. I like the arc to it.
